BERGEN COUNTY, NJ - A Plainsboro, New Jersey man was arrested at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday morning, for arranging on the Internet to meet a 10-year-old girl for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts with her, authorities say.

Gerald G. Yusko, Jr., 43, of Plainsboro, NJ, was arrested on charges of attempted aggravated sexual assault (one count), attempted luring (one count), and attempted endangering the welfare of a child (one count).

The arrest resulted from an investigation conducted by members of the Ridgefield Park Police Department, under the direction of Chief Robert W. Lee, in conjunction with and as part of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Computer Crimes Unit.

According to authorities, the arrest stemmed from an online undercover investigation in which Gerald Yusko solicited an undercover officer in a chat room, who was posing as an adult with a 10-year-old female child. Yusko reportedly requested to meet the child for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts with her.

Authorities state that Yusko traveled from his residence in Plainsboro to a pre-arranged location in Bergen County, to engage in acts of sexual penetration with the presumed prepubescent child.

Yusko, who is married and is currently an unemployed chef, was arrested without incident. Bail was set at $50,000.00 with no 10% option, and as a condition he is to have no Internet access. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.

Yusko is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow, May 20, at 4:00 p.m. before Judge Donald Venezia.
