Fundraiser for fire victims

Rock to Replace, a live music event benefiting the victims of the recent Edgewater fire that destroyed the homes of hundreds of New Jersey residents, will be held tomorrow at the Smokin' Barrel. The fire that caused Edgewater Mayor Michael McPartland to declare a local state of emergency temporarily, destroyed about 240 units in the Avalon apartment complex.

Bill is introduced in N.J. Assembly for freeze on lightweight wood construction

Bergen County dispatch center releases 911 calls on Edgewater apartment fire [listen]

Authorities this week released recordings of six 911 calls handled by the Bergen County Public Safety Operations Center in Mahwah the night of Jan. 21, when a five-alarm blaze tore through the Avalon at Edgewater complex, leaving about 500 people homeless and temporarily displacing several hundred more.
